Acoustic Compression Therapy

PiezoWave Therapy

This advanced treatment therapy is an effective, non-invasive solution to the pain associated with the musculoskeletal system.

It delivers high-energy percussions to the injured/affected area being treated. They’re NOT electric shocks, but mechanical pulses that travel through the tissue being treated.

Non-invasive, Quick, and Comfortable

PiezoWave is a device that is classified as myofascial acoustic compression therapy. It uses low intensity shock waves to target damaged tissue to manipulate and compress tissue.

This manipulation increases circulation and blood flow. It can be used for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions including neck pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, chronic trigger point pain, low back pain, etc. It is non-invasive, quick, and comfortable.

Patient-Guided Pain Relief

The sources of pain are not always found in the area where the pain seems to be radiating from. This is clinically called referred pain. The distancing of the pain sensation from its source can make treatment more difficult. Diagnosis of referred pain and the recognition of the originating pain triggering points can be accomplished using the PiezoWave.

How Does it Work?

During each painless treatment laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved.

  • A typical PiezoWave Therapy treatment takes between 10 and 20 minutes
  • Normally, 1-2 treatments per week are performed
  • A total of 3-6 treatments may be necessary before lasting improvement is achieved
  • With acute pain, a single session of PiezoWave Therapy is often successful
Who Is The Ideal Candidate?

Patients with chronic or unresponsive injuries that have tried other methods of care to no avail may be great candidates for this type of therapy.

Some common injuries that benefit from Piezowave/shockwave therapy:

  • Headaches
  • Neck pain: Whiplash injury, tech neck,
  • Hip pain/Low back pain
  • Pain and tissue inflammation associated with Arthritis
  • Elbow pain: Tennis elbow, Golfer’s elbow,
  • Shoulder pain: Rotator cuff injury, Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis),
  • Tendonopathy: tendonitis and tendonosis
  • Wrist or Ankle Pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Myofascial dysfunction
  • Chronic trigger point pain
  • Repetitive stress injuries
  • Sprains and strains
